FAQ - SIMPS

  • Our style stems from the Bay Area longform tradition of supportive play and grounded storytelling, with our core principles informed by Patricia Ryan Madson’s improv philosophy (Improv Wisdom)! We believe in saying yes, celebrating mistakes, taking care of each other, and having fun, among other things :)

We do a range of formats, some existing and some new! They range from hour-long narrative shows (Improvised Musicals, Filmprov Noir, Unscripted Shakespeare) to shortform montage (The Harold, Armando). Check out our Past Shows page for more!

  • There are lots of kinds of SImps!

    • StImp = Stage Improvisor. Auditions for StImps require having taken TAPS 103, TAPS 104, or LIT! (Learning Improv Time - a workshop offered by the SImps) — subscribe to our mailing list to be notified when LIT! will be offered and when auditions will be held!
